Ernst Gremaud founds STOBAG with a lot of courage, pioneering spirit and great enthusiasm for innovation. His goal: to simplify the installation of sun blinds. He experimented with self-made tools and the first aluminum blind components.
Son Gianni Gremaud, who has been in the business since the mid-70s, takes over the management of the company in 1983. STOBAG develops from a pure component manufacturer to a manufacturer of finished awnings. As demand increases, expansion begins with various national agencies and partnerships in Europe, Canada and Brazil.
In the nineties Gianni Gremaud focuses on automation and mass customization. STOBAG grows with additional locations and enters the coating business. With Alain Michel, David Halter and Leandro Gremaud, the third generation joins the company in 2010.
Alain Michel is continuously driving forward the digitalization and targeted orientation of the brand and product portfolio towards architects and end customers. His aim is to perfectly align the range and design with the requirements of modern architecture and the individual needs of customers for outdoor living. He also places great value on close and trusting cooperation with partners, because high-quality projects can only be successfully realized and sustainable values created through strong partnerships.
